Building Innovation: Who’s the 2024 Exceptional Woman in Building?
AIAS FORUM, the largest annual architecture and design conference that the AIAS puts on, offers students the opportunity to learn about issues facing architectural education and the profession, to meet and network with other students and professionals with common interests, and to interact with today’s leading architects. In addition to the keynote presentations, FORUM includes tours, daily seminars, and workshops that enable attendees to discuss relevant and current architectural and design issues.
Virtual MeetingToday’s architectural educators operate in a rapidly evolving social, cultural, technological and ecological milieu that expands and complicates the problem space, while introducing new possibilities for how we teach and engage our students and local communities. Conditions and expectations of our home institutions often frame our efforts, sometimes reinforcing the status quo while simultaneously demanding innovation in scholarship, teaching, and praxis. The 109th Annual Meeting of the ACSA will invoke the multivalent nature of PROSPECT as extensive view, a place from which to gain vantage enabling the act of looking forward and exploring. The conference will be a place from where we can appreciate the expanse of architectural education’s possible futures, simultaneously envision those futures through active inquiry and explore the interconnectedness of our communities.
Virtual MeetingThe Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI), in partnership with the University of Colorado Boulder, is pleased to announce the 9th Biennial Professional Conference for 2021.
The concept of living buildings has recently emerged as the new ideal for sustainable building design and construction. Defined as a building that generates all of its own energy with renewable, non-toxic resources, captures and treats all of its water, and operates efficiently with an uncompromising aesthetic, living buildings represent a new species of buildings that blends boundaries between the built environment and the natural world and necessitates creative, integrative engineering and architecture solutions to meet rigorous design challenges.
