Building Innovation: Who’s the 2024 Exceptional Woman in Building?
The campaign, introduced in 2020, plans to recognize high-performing projects annually. Its first-year success stories represent a range of diverse projects, including building retrofits and new construction of K-12 schools, higher education, commercial real estate, health care, and multifamily structures.
The symposium takes place September 23. Abstracts are due April 16.
This will be the second symposium in honor of the memory of Wagdy Anis, an internationally recognized architect who specialized in building enclosure performance. B-BEC is a chapter under the National Institute of Building Sciences Building Enclosure Technology and Environment Council.
The National Institute of Building Sciences Building Enclosure Technology and Environment Council (BETEC) and the Building Enclosure Council – Philadelphia are seeking abstracts for papers for presentation at the fifth BEST Conference Building Enclosure Science and Technology™ (BEST5), to be held April 2018 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The National Institute of Building Sciences (Institute), ASTM International (ASTM) and RCI, Inc. issued a joint statement July 11 announcing their intent to avoid duplication of effort relating to their respective building enclosure commissioning (BECx) programs.
The Institute is rolling out a series of new BECx certificate modules as an education component of an agreement with ASTM to create a joint certificate in building enclosure commissioning. The first three two-hour, face-to-face pilot modules were unveiled in April during the fifth BEST Building Enclosure Science & Technology Conference™ (BEST5) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A BECx workshop with additional modules is scheduled for Building Innovation 2019: The National Institute of Building Sciences Seventh Annual Conference and Expo, in January in Washington, D.C.
The two-day show features: 500+ incredible speakers across 15 conference tracks & AIA CES accredited workshops, Networking Parties; 400+ exhibitors; the USA's largest meeting of Women in Construction; a Government Hub, Architect's Hub, live demos, DJs, live music, entertainment and much more!
The National Institute of Building Sciences Building Enclosure Technology and Environment Council has opened the call for abstracts for the Building Science and Technology (BEST6) conference.
